Pickleball is a fun and exciting sport that is enjoyed by players of all ages and skill levels. However, in order to play the game correctly, it is important to understand the pickleball rules and scoring system. In this blog post, we will discuss the basic rules and scoring system of pickleball so that you can understand how to play the game correctly and fairly.
First and foremost, it’s essential to understand the court layout and dimensions. The pickleball court is a rectangular shape that measures 20x44 feet for doubles and 20x34 feet for singles. The net is hung at a height of 36 inches at the sidelines and 34 inches at the center.
When it comes to the rules of play, pickleball is similar to tennis. Players must hit the ball over the net and into the opponent’s court without the ball touching the ground. The ball can be hit with the paddle or the hand, but it cannot be caught, carried, or thrown. A point is scored when the opposing team is unable to return the ball or if the ball goes out of bounds.
